Khelo India Youth Games 2020
The Khelo India youth game was launched by the central government to increase the knowledge of sports. It was mainly designed for the students and also the graduates who are keen to develop their interest in sports. The Khelo India Youth Games will help develop the youth for the sports prevailing in our country. It will also help in the development of sports resources that will help our youth to take part in the Olympics and also other country’s sports games.
First Games In New Delhi
Khelo India Youth Program was already inaugurated in New Delhi city and the Youth Games was started from 31st January to 8th February 2018. The inauguration of the games in New Delhi attracted a lot of audiences and was a huge success. Although, the athletes were only invited below the age of 17 and the inauguration was called Khelo India School Games. The athletes were invited for the following disciplines – Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Shooting, Swimming, Volleyball, Weightlifting, and Wrestling.
Benefits Of The Initiative
- The first and foremost benefit is that games will increase the fitness of the people.
- The second benefit is that it will provide money to the people who are financially weak.
- The financial funds will help people to take sports seriously.
- Multipurpose hall, tracks and also another monument will be built in the rural areas thus, that will help in the development of the rural areas.
- It is also expected that more than 20 million children will get a chance of showcasing their sports skills.
- Also the main motive behind the game is to provide remuneration to the coaches also despite the athletes.
Financial Assistance Under The Games
As mentioned above the Khelo India Youth Games are mainly focused on the youth of the country. The Khelo India Youth Games will provide Rupees 800000 for each athlete registered under any game for a total of 5 years. The financial assessment will help the athlete to overcome the financial disability if any. The following remuneration has been decided for the athletes to encourage them to take part in more and more games. Also apart from the remuneration for the athletes, some regulation is also decided for the coaches of the athletes. The financial remuneration will help both the coach and the athlete to shower their talent under the Khelo India Youth Game for the long run.
Khelo India Youth Games In Guwahati
As announced by the Union Minister of Sports Kiren Rijiju after the first edition of the inauguration in New Delhi, the second edition of inauguration in Pune now the third edition of inauguration will be held in Guwahati. The date announced by the concerned authorities for the third inauguration is 18th to 30th January 2020. This time the Khelo India Youth Games 3rd edition in Guwahati will be conducted in partnership with Indian Olympic Association (IOA), School Games Federation of India (SGFI) & Assam as host State. Also it is said that more than a thousand athletes will be participating in the Khelo India Youth Games at the Guwahati city.
Eligibility For KIYG
The eligibility criteria under the Khelo India Youth Games is given below:-
- Candidates below the age of 17 years are eligible to compete in the under-17 category.
- Candidates below the age of 21 are eligible to compete in the under-21 category.
- It is also expected that anyone applying under the Khelo India School Games must be interested and somewhat good in sports.
- As the Khelo India School Games do not track any money from the participant so, you can apply for the games even if you are financially weak.
- The applicant can belong to any of the state in the country.
Start Date of Khelo India Youth Game
First KIYG was held on 31st January 2018 at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi and second at Pune, Maharashtra from 9th January to 20th January 2019. Third KIYG will be held from 18th January to 30th January 2020 at Guwahati. This time the games will be organized by the Indian School Games Federation of India (SGFI), Olympic Association (IOA), and Assam as host State in partnership. The registration process for KIYG 2020 will be started soon.
How to Register In Khelo India Youth Games 2020
For the third inauguration of Khelo India Youth Games in the Guwahati city, the applicants can apply via online or offline mode also. The application process for the registration under the Khelo India Youth Games via online mode is given below:-
- First of all visit this registration page
- After you receive the registration page, a registration tab will be displayed on your screen.
- On the registration tab three icons will be displayed.
- Among the three icons that are –
- Athlete
- Coach
- Technical Officer
- Click on the Athlete if you are applying for it.
- After you click on Athlete, a page will appear in which you have to submit some details such as personal details.
- Upload your passport size photograph and all the other relevant documents, if asked.
- Read the terms and conditions carefully.
- Click on I agree.
- Finally, click on Create My Profile.
- After clicking a second webpage will appear on your screen.
- On the second page fill in your educational, documentation and bank account details.
- Check your details carefully.
- Click on the Continue button.
- The third web page will appear on your screen.
- On this page you have to fill in the Kitting details and contact information.
- Finally, click on the Submit button.
- After clicking your Athlete dashboard will appear on your screen.
- Thus, you have registered yourself as an athlete on KIYG.
Note – Users can make changes in their dashboard by logging into the website by using their Login ID and Password anytime, anywhere.
