AP YSR Housing Scheme
The government of Andhra Pradesh has announced two new schemes in the budget 2019-20. PMAY YSR Weaker Section Housing Scheme and YSR Urban Housing Scheme. The government has allocated a total of Rs 2,280 crore in the budget. Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy has presented the AP State Budget 2021 with an outlay of Rs 2,27,975 crore.
YSR Housing Scheme or YSR Gruha Vasathi Scheme
As mentioned above the YSR Housing was announced by Chief Minister Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy in the union budget for 2021. The AP YSR Housing was launched for the welfarement of the economically backward section of the Andhra Pradesh state. Through the EWS Housing Scheme, certain benefits will be given to the people who belong to the economically backward section of society. Also, certain measures have been taken to give benefits to people who are below the poverty line.

Salient features of PMAY YSR Urban Housing Scheme
Main objectives of the schemes – The above schemes have been launched with the main thrust of building houses for people belonging to weaker sections of society.
The target group of schemes – Low-income families and weaker sections of the state are the target group of schemes. This will provide them with better accommodation to live in.
The amount allocated for the schemes – Finance Minister of Andhra Pradesh Buggana Rajendranath Reddy has announced Rs 2280 crore for the successful launch of the schemes. In addition, an allocation of Rs.2,27,975 crore has been made to improve the condition of agriculture, housing, human capital, and other sectors.

Eligibility Criteria
Residents of the state – The above schemes are not applicable to the residents of Andhra Pradesh. However, residents of other states are not allowed to take and receive benefits under the scheme.
Income Criteria – Since the weaker sections and low-paid families can get the benefit of the schemes, a fixed annual income limit will be fixed based on which the families will get the benefit of the scheme.
Types Of Schemes
In the union budget of 2021 for the Andhra Pradesh state, it is clearly stated that under the YSR housing scheme. There are three types of schemes that will be undertaken by the concerned authorities for the welfarement of poor people residing in the Andhra Pradesh state. These three housing schemes are –

- PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana) Urban Housing Scheme
Amount allotment for the Scheme
In the budget meeting of Andhra Pradesh, the state government announced for allotment of rupees 9786 core for improving the housing sector.

About Urban Housing Scheme
As the name suggests the YSR Urban Housing scheme is a scheme mainly prepared for the urban people living in Andhra Pradesh state. The housing facilities under the YSR Urban Housing will be provided to the people who belong to the below-the-poverty-line group or economically backward groups. All the essential details of the scheme will provide through the official notification which will be available for the public a few days after.
YSR Economic Weaker Section Housing Scheme
The Housing scheme consists of three main schemes and one of them is YSR Economically Weaker Section Housing Scheme. This housing scheme is for people who are economically weaker in terms of money or in terms of social status. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh stated that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy has come up with the scheme for economically weaker sections so that they can work efficiently and also can again home for themselves if they are homeless through the scheme.
About PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana) Urban Housing Scheme
The central Government of India has started the PMAY Scheme for the Poor People of India. The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana provides housing facilities to all the residents of our country. So, under the union budget for Andhra Pradesh state for the year, 2019 Chief Minister Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy provided a separate budget for the PMAY. It also said that PMAY YSR Housing will now work in partnership with PMAY. So, every citizen of the Andhra Pradesh state can gain full advantage of the scheme.
Documents Required To Fill Out The Application Form
While filling out the application form for the above-mentioned three schemes you need to carry these documents with you:-
- Income Certificate – As we all know that the scheme is only open to people who are below the poverty line so an income certificate has to be produced.
- Identity Proof for identification purposes such as –
- Aadhaar Card
- PAN Card
- Passport
- Address Proof – As the scheme is only open to the people who are permanent residents of Andhra Pradesh state so you need to produce an address proof.
- Bank Passbook Photocopy
- Passport Size Photograph for identification.
- Domicile Certificate.
YSR Housing Scheme – Application Procedure
- To apply online for the housing scheme, the applicant has to visit the official website.

YSR Jagananna Colonies Scheme
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched the YSR Jagananna Colonies Scheme on the birth anniversary of his late father on 8th July 2020. Under this scheme, houses will be provided to the beneficiaries who are provided side cutters by State Government. 60000 beneficiaries have been selected by the government and another 10,000 applications are under consideration. Housing facilities along with the infrastructure facilities like Road water supply and electrification will also be provided to the beneficiaries under this scheme.
