Tamil Nadu Free Bicycle Scheme 2022
The Government of Tamilnadu State has come out with a free bicycle scheme for the year 2022. Through the implementation of this scheme, free bicycles will be awarded to all of the students who are studying in government schools or affiliated schools governed by the Tamilnadu Government. Through the implementation of the scheme, free bicycles will be provided to the students who find it difficult days to come to school without any vehicle because of the free bicycles many students will be able to come and join the school at the proper time.

One of the main benefits of the implementation of the scheme will be the proper utilization of school time by the students especially those who were certainly late because no vehicle was owned by them. Also, the students can come to school daily without worrying about transportation fares.

Implementation Of The Scheme
The free bicycle scheme was first launched to encourage female students to pursue education. It was launched by former CM late J. Jayalalithaa in the year 2001-02. Although, previously the scheme was only for the students of the SC / ST category studying in higher secondary. Now as the previous scheme was successful for the government, the scheme is now relaunched for the students studying in the 11th standard of all the government schools of Tamil Nadu irrespective of gender and caste.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the free bicycle scheme in Tamilnadu State you must follow the simple eligibility criteria given below:-
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu state.
- The applicant must be studying in 11th standard.
- Applicant must be a student of either Government or Government aided or Partly aided schools.
- Students staying in hostels located within the campus of the School are not eligible.
- The students of residential schools are also not eligible.
