But all the information is about the citizens who were present in the country before the year 1950. Also, the NRC has not been updated till now. Now as announced by the government and the BJP official the NRC will be updated for all the country in the upcoming years.

Many BJP officials said that the NRC updation will be implemented in their respective states very soon. Mainly because the NRC updation is a necessary process that has to be undertaken to prevent the illegal activities which are carried out by illegal citizens in day to day life. The illegal practices are holding back the common citizens of the states to enjoy their rights and duties judicially.

Cut Off Dates NRC In India

Although the NRC updation is a vital process for the central government and much effort has to be undertaken to update the NRC securely. Eligibility To Get Registered In NRC

The conditions through which you will be automatically registered under the National Register of India are given below:-

  • People whose names appear in the NRC list of 1951
  • People whose names appear in any of the Electoral Rolls up to March 24, 1971
  • Descendants of any of these people mentioned.
  • People who came from another region on or after January 1, 1966 but before March 25, 1971 and registered themselves with the Foreigners Registration Regional Officer (FRRO) and were declared as Indian citizens by the Foreigner Tribunal
  • D’ voters can apply for inclusion of their names in the updated NRC. Although, their names will be included only when the appropriate Foreigner Tribunal declares them as non-foreigners.
  • Persons who can provide any one of the documents issued up to midnight of March 24, 1971 as mentioned in the list of documents admissible for citizenship.

NRC Updation In Assam

As a result of the NRC updation in Assam state, a total of 33027661 persons applied through the NRC forms. There were 6837660 application forms submitted throughout the state. A total of 31121004 persons were found eligible under the NRC and their names were included in the NRC list. These people are announced as the official residents of the Assam state and these people have no need to worry or no need to be presented in any of the foreigner’s tribunals. But about 1906657 people are left out under the new NRC list and these people need to produce documents and to be presented before the foreigner’s tribunal.
