The following documents are required to apply for updating your Aadhaar:-

Proof of Identity

  • Passport
  • PAN card
  • Either Ration or PDS Photocard
  • Voter Identification card.
  • Driving license of the applicant.
  • Photo identification cards issued by the Government of India.
  • Service photo ID cards that is issued by the PSU.
  • Job card of NREGS.
  • The licence of Arms.
  • A Photo Bank ATM card.
  • The Photo Credit card.
  • Photo card of the Pensioner.
  • A Photo card of the Freedom Fighter.
  • Photo Passbook of Kisan.
  • Photo card of CGHS.
  • Certificate of Marriage.
  • A document containing a proof of the marriage of the applicant issued originally by the marriage Registrar.
  • Legally approved name change certificate
  • ECHS Photocard.
  • Residing Address card of the applicant that contains both the name and photo that was originally issued by the Department of Posts.
  • Identity Certificate containing the photo of the applicant on a proper letterhead.
  • Handicapped medical certificate or a disability Identification card.

  • Address certificate along with a photo on their letterhead that is issued either by an MP, MLA, Gazetted Officer or Tehsildar.
  • Address Certificate issued by the Village Panchayat head or any authority equivalent to them for rural areas.
  • Assessment order of the Income Tax.
  • Registration certificate of the vehicle.
  • Registered agreement for sale, lease or rent of the applicant’s residential address.
  • Photo and address card by the Department of Posts.
  • Caste and Domicile certificate along with a photo that the State Government has issued.
  • Previous 3-month bill of gas connection. Either a handicapped medical certificate or a disability Identification card that is issued by either a State Government, UT Government or any Administrations
  • Spouse’s or partner’s passport.
  • For minors, parents’ passport is required.

Proof of Date of Birth

  • Certificate of birth.
  • Certificate of SSLC Book.
  • Passport of the applicant.
  • Date of birth Certificate on their letterhead issued by either the Tehsildar or the Gazetted Officer.

Process To Aadhaar Card Update

  • First, visit the Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal on UIDAI’s website.
  • Enter your Aadhaar number on the space provided.
  • Click on Send OTP
  • Enter the OTP received on your number.
  • Enter the Captcha Code
  • Select the address option for updating it.
  • Enter your current residential address and confirm it
  • Upload relevant Proof of Address.
  • Select your BPO for authentication.
  • Your request will be submitted
  • After successful submission, an Update Request Number (URN) will be generated.

Process To Update Your Name

You cannot change your name via the UIDAI website. So, to change your name via Aadhaar Seva Kendra you can follow these simple steps:-

  • First, visit your nearest Aadhar Seva Kendra.
  • Fill the Aadhaar Enrolment/Correction Form.
  • Mention your changed name in the form.
  • Submit valid Proof of Identity (PoI)
  • The executive will register your update request.
  • An acknowledgment slip for your update request will be provided.
  • Lastly, pay Rs 25/- as a fee.

Process To Update Your Number

You cannot change your number via the UIDAI Official Website. So, to change your number via Aadhaar Seva Kendra you can follow these simple steps:-

  • First, visit your nearest Aadhar Seva Kendra.
  • Fill the Aadhaar Enrolment/Correction Form.
  • Mention your changed number in the form.
  • No valid proof is required.
  • The executive will register your update request.
  • An acknowledgment slip for your update request will be provided.
  • Lastly, pay Rs 25/- as a fee.

Process To Update Your DoB

You cannot change your date of birth via the UIDAI website. So, to change your date of birth via Aadhaar Seva Kendra you can follow these simple steps:-

  • First, visit your nearest Aadhar Seva Kendra.
  • Fill the Aadhaar Enrolment/Correction Form.
  • Submit the proof of date of birth along with the form.
  • The executive will register your update request.
  • An acknowledgment slip for your update request will be provided.
  • Lastly, pay Rs 25/- as a fee.
  • Your DoB will be updated in Aadhaar within 90 days.
